Zac Affleck admits he "messed up" in his marriage to estranged wife Jen Affleck.
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Jen filed for divorce from her husband last week after seven years of marriage and he has now to TikTok to admit he regrets how he treated her in the past.
Zac said: "I married my dream girl, and I messed it up. Jen, I'm sorry. I was supposed to protect your heart and I failed.
"I'm sorry for the way I spoke to you. I'm sorry for dimming your light. I'm sorry I was so young and immature. I'm sorry I couldn't make the changes I needed to. And I'm sorry I let things get to this point.
"I can't change the past, but I can promise to keep working on myself and do everything I can to be the best father, coparent, and friend moving forward.
"I want to approach this next chapter of life with nothing but love, and gratitude for everything we shared. And the beautiful family we created and will continue to raise. Love you, lil J."
Jen and Zac met in 2018 through a Mormon dating app and tied the knot the following year.
They welcomed their first child Nora in 2021 and also share son Luca and daughter Penelope.
Jen is currently pregnant with their fourth child.
She admitted she has wanted to file for divorce for "a really long time" but worried she would not be able to go through with it if she waited until after giving birth.
Jen told Entertainment Tonight: "I was worried that if I waited until then, that I would continue the cycle.
"Rewatching the show, it made me see, 'Man, like I have trained myself to forget'. I have trained myself to survive, and the show made me see, 'No, I'm not forgetting this time.'"
Zac has claimed that Jen told him she was "unhappy" after her stint on Dancing with the Stars in 2025, and asked for a divorce.
He told his TikTok followers: "I basically begged her to stay. Ultimately, we just couldn't make it work, and it sucks because I really do love Jen and I still love Jen."
And, fans had speculated the pair could be having some issues when Jen was seen without her wedding ring in an emotional TikTok video in April, in which she discussed her "next chapter".
She said in the clip: "In the last two to three years, so much has happened. Between two babies, reality TV show, Dancing With the Stars, moving, identity, faith, life crisis, I'm very hopeful for this next chapter of my life."
