Prince Harry is stepping down from his role as chief impact officer at online mental health coaching company BetterUp.

The 42-year-old Duke of Sussex joined the company in 2021 but following his move back to the UK with his family, it has been announced that he will be transitioning to a new role as senior advisor.

BetterUp CEO and co-founder Alexi Robichaux said in a statement posted on the company's website: "For the past five years, Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, has been BetterUp's Chief Impact Officer. From our first conversation, my co-founder, Eddie Medina, and I were impressed by his adept understanding of the power of coaching, and he championed our belief that coaching should be available to people everywhere. When he joined us, he was one of the most prominent voices making the case for mental fitness.

"Prince Harry's time on our leadership team marked an impactful chapter of growth for our company. BetterUp scaled to change hundreds of thousands of lives and expanded into 30+ additional countries. Today, across continents and industries, BetterUp is the trusted partner for bringing coaching, AI, and behavioral science together so people can thrive at work and in life.

"After five incredible years together, Prince Harry will transition from his role as Chief Impact Officer to become a Senior Advisor to BetterUp. In this new capacity, he will focus on key projects with some of our largest enterprise customers, working alongside our team and the leaders we partner with. The move also gives him more time to grow his portfolio of investments, pursue new business opportunities, and continue his support of philanthropic causes close to his heart."

Despite the change in Harry's role at the company, BetterUp will continue its partnership with Harry's veterans charity Invictus Games.

Robichaux explained: "Our partnership with the Invictus Games Foundation continues, and with Harry, we'll keep supporting veterans as they strengthen their resilience and reach their goals in recovery and growth.

"Harry, thank you for what you've helped build here. I'm glad we get to keep doing this work together in this new capacity."

Harry and his wife, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, moved to North America in 2020 after quitting as senior royals but earlier this year, they made a surprise return to the UK alongside their two children.
