Cardi B has been inspired by Raven-Symone.

The 33-year-old rap star has admitted to being inspired by Raven-Symone's colourful dress sense during her younger years.

Cardi told Vogue Arabia: "I always had a passion for fashion and ever since I was a younger girl, I loved the style of Raven-Symone.

"I knew that I had to dress differently. Everyone around me was wearing Jordans and jeans and I just wanted to dress in bold colours like Raven."

Cardi insisted she takes her fashion sense very seriously.

The chart-topping star said: "People might think that I don't take a lot of things seriously. When it comes to dressing, when it comes to clothing, when it comes to putting everything together - from the hair to the feet - I don't play. Everything counts."

Cardi wants to make designers feel "proud" when she steps out in public.

The Bodak Yellow hitmaker explained: "I take dressing up as a challenge.

"I feel that designers have to be happy with what they do. I don't want them to feel they've wasted their time on me. I don't want to just wear the clothes, I want them to be like, 'Wow, she put this together so well.' I want to make them proud."

Meanwhile, Cardi previously claimed that she was "born" with a relentless work ethic.

The rap star believes that hard work has been one of the keys to her success, but Cardi doesn't know whether her kids will share the same traits.

Cardi - who has Blossom, 23 months, Wave, four, and Kulture, eight, with Offset, as well as a toddler son with Stefon Diggs - told PAPER Magazine: "You really have to be born with it, because you could be in a household where you see both your parents or a parent, or you see a single mother working their a** off, and yet you still wouldn't have that drive.

"You could grow up in poverty, or you could grow up in a very wealthy family; if you don't have it in you, you just don't have it in you. It's almost like you have to hope that your kids have that work ethic in them, and I just pray that they do."
