AOC 'probably' wouldn't date a conservative

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez admits she “probably” wouldn’t date a right-wing Republican, although she left the door open a crack to crossing the partisan aisle in search of love.

Asked if she would ever go out with a conservative, the progressive lawmaker, who is mentioned as a possible 2028 presidential candidate, declared to a TMZ reporter: “I’d have to say ... probably not.”

AOC explained that she considers shared values to be a key factor in picking a potential partner, even though she insisted she wasn’t calling “foul” on anyone who feels differently about cross-party romance.

“I think a lot of politics sometimes, at least for me, is about values,” Ocasio-Cortez said as she walked to the Capitol. “Being aligned in values is tremendously important.”

Ocasio-Cortez, 36, is single after breaking up with former fiance Riley Roberts. She has spent much of the last month on her social media platforms documenting the process of freezing her eggs, which would allow her to consider trying to have children in the future.

The series of posts invited speculation and questions about AOC’s possible political plans, with some speculating that she could be kicking the relationship can down the road to concentrate on a run for higher office in 2028.

She’s considered a possible 2028 White House candidate but could also run for the Senate seat now held by Sen. Chuck Schumer. The Democratic majority leader is 75 and hasn’t said whether or not he will run for a sixth term in 2028.
