Dove Cameron reveals 'father figure' Kenny Ortega officiated her wedding

Dove Cameron has opened up about why she chose Descendants director Kenny Ortega to officiate her wedding.
The 30-year-old actress/singer tied the knot with her musician partner Damiano David - the frontman of the Eurovision Song Contest-winning band Maneskin - at the town hall in Montalcino, Tuscany in September.
Following the nuptials, Dove told People that Kenny, who also directed High School Musical, was the perfect choice for multiple reasons, including the fact that her father passed away in 2011.
She explained to Coveteur magazine: "Damiano and I knew we wanted it to be done by someone who meant something to one of us personally. It was his idea to have it be someone from my side, mostly because my father couldn't be there, and because we were getting married in Italy, [and] some of my guest list couldn't make it due to the time commitment and busy schedules.
"I've been very lucky to have a large number of mentors and father figures alike, who stepped into my life in a nurturing role when I was looking for it.
"Kenny will forever be one of the first people to see me for who I was, to choose me, nurture me, and help me become who I am."
The couple first met at the MTV VMAs back in 2022, but they didn't start dating until a year later. They announced their engagement in January this year - after Damiano popped the question in October 2025.
Dove, who wore a chic white suit for her big day, also spoke to Vogue about the wedding after the event, as she said: "We wanted it to feel very romantic and intimate, but also ensure it was a huge, fun moment of celebration for everyone.
"It all went by so quickly, and I never wanted it to end!"
Dove is undergoing an exciting time in her career too, ahead of the release of her debut album - Final Girl.
She announced the upcoming release in a post on Instagram, and told fans: "This record means the world to me and I can't wait for you to hear it."
She also dropped a hint about the direction of the record in the Coveteur interview, as she called it "extremely confessional".
